The Importance of Holistic Astrology

If you come from a background where astrology wasn't a part of your culture, it's a miracle you're actually here on this page. Perhaps you have broken through the imposed guilt or shame from people who fear astrology, and I want to acknowledge how much work it probably took to feel comfortable learning more about it.

I used to believe Astrology was for everyone, but now I understand that it is really only helpful for people ready to search for the information and learn it. Sometimes I like to imagine that we will get to the point as a civilization where it would be integrated into our culture, but I also know that there's a lot of vested interest in regulating the access to such a powerful tool. The beautiful thing about astrology is that anyone can learn it, as long as they can understand math.

Some people think Astrology is like a religion, but it's much more than that and not like religion at all. The etymology of the word "religion" comes from the latin word "to bind". In religion, there's usually a moral code or dogma, principles of virtue etc.

Religion has served as a framework for the masses to supplement or substitute the spiritual awareness we are all born with. Because Astrology doesn't provide moral code or rules, it is often demonized by religion. Admittedly, astrology can be used for manipulative purposes, and nobody knows that better than the creators of religion, government, enterprise, and the biggest institutions in the world, who's frameworks, policies, and branding uses astrological principles as a foundation of legitimacy.

So what is Astrology then?

The short definition would be that Astrology a language. This language describes number in space and time, often using metaphor to explain the meaning within angles and relationships in trigonometry. These relationships are repetitive patterns due to the cyclical nature of life, which is why these metaphors are so easily understood by so many people.

Astrology was developed to describe the mapping of celestial bodies during their circular rotation and explain the differences between people, places, and things based on their time of birth. How else could you explain the differences between you and your siblings? Despite being born in the same environment, you may be nothing alike, right?

Astrology is only a self descriptive philosophy, being that it provides not only account of itself within space, but in time as well. It says "We have been recording information this long" and claims nothing more.

Who can be an Astrologer?

Anyone can become an astrologer! This is a language of mathematical relationships, this is not a man made religion. If anyone tells you that you must complete some kind of course to officially become an astrologer, please understand that astrology is a very personal tool, that one should be able to use to understand themselves, and you are the authority for your own soul's journey.

Astrological information is not special, though it can be considered sacred. Many astrologers don't know quantum physics, and they will admit that they don't know how astrology works, they simply "feel" what they are talking about. Maybe they will admit that they found astrology to be true by trying to prove that it DOESN'T work.

An astrologer would typically be able to "guess" someones zodiac sign by spending an afternoon with them and recognizing the patterns of their behavior or even physical body. A very intuitive astrologer would be able to "guess" someone's sign by seeing a photo of them, or speaking to them for a few minutes. A great deal of information about you can be picked up very easily by intuitive people simply because the patterns we follow in life are cyclical.

While you can certainly enroll in courses to learn astrology and make the effort to gain insight from other astrologers, the beauty of this language is that it's free to everyone, and applies to everyone. Your karma may not be that you are lucky enough to have access to the information. It can be somewhat difficult to learn astrology by yourself, or without an authority figure helping you sift through what information is true or not true. It's ultimately up to you to determine the relevancy that this language has in your life, and attract people to your life, or seek out people who can help legitimize your understandings. I encourage you to embrace astrology as a life long practice and study, and a tool that first should be applied to your own life.

Is Astrology a Pseudo-science?

Most critics of astrology are looking for measurable data to show that the planets affect us, and even want proof that the placement of the planets determines our destiny. Most people treat "science" as another type of religion, they don't understand much about it so they look to an authority figure to think for them, and determine their own beliefs. Science is also like astrology, there is no dogma or morality inherent in either. Science is a method of observation, and nothing more. The things we determine using science are considered "theories" until otherwise proven.

But even critics will agree to the basis of astrology which is rooted in astronomical science: The zodiac is a persistent group of celestial bodies whose relative position has not changed much over the aeons. The rotation of the earth around the sun provides a seasonal climate, a sequence of events that lead to creation by the forces of nature. Throughout time, these seasons gathered names and reputations for themselves along with the events they consequently brought.

Its important to understand that the most powerful organizations in our world use astrology, and plenty of scientists, inventors, psychologists, and engineers have admitted their practice of astrology. The age of information has turned our modern world into a cult of sorts, where those who go against the status quo are deemed charlatans and heretics. Once you become acquainted with astrology enough to use it for even small everyday pattern recognition, you can't go back to being unaware of it's validity.

Gravitational waves carry energy that we aren't able to measure and study right now, but the scientific community does know they exist by the changes they create. The gravitational pull of the moon affects the entire planet, and of course it affects us. The words we say affect the liquids around us and the molecules of inside of us. This is because all waves carry energy, and our brains are capable of more interpretation than we are typically taught. The planets in our solar system, revolving around our sun, are vastly bigger than the moon and even Earth. Their varying orbits have an impact on everything around them.

Though most published sources would like you to believe that the "scientific community" doesn't support astrology, there are many, many scientists who use astrology and understand it as a framework for observation. Astrology and divination is part of many cultures and has historically shaped the world we live in. It just isn't as out in the open as you might recognize at first.

What is a Natal Chart?

The map of astrology is called a "natal chart" or "horoscope" and it's a visual diagram of any moment in any place showing 360 degrees of information. In a circle there is no hierarchy, only sequence. The same mathematical principles that qualify the golden ratio, the flower of life, sacred geometry, and numerology, are the same principles that govern how this language is structured. Here is an example of a natal chart:

You may have seen other versions, I'm just showing my favorite display type here, but the truth is there's many ways to show this map of the cosmos. Like a stamp, each natal chart is unique from the next, based on location, date and time.

Astrology is Holistic

Astrological mapping allows for long periods of time to be understood, for intelligent life to apply our most intellectual concepts to the physical world. Using the language of astrology provides us a way of acknowledging the relationships between events and the patterns found in nature. Using astrology is not as esoteric or mysterious as you may have been lead to believe.

Our ancestors (from all over the world) have left us evidence of their understanding of the natural laws of universe. This information, has been hidden from the masses throughout recent history despite it's evidence being in plain sight.

Compartmentalized thinking is the opposite of holistic thinking, it slows us down and to keeps our self esteem and self awareness hidden from us. This is because there is no leverage to be held against a person who understands holistic philosophy and astrology. A mind that knows astrology and holistic philosophy cannot be imprisoned, tricked, or used for evil energy. Understanding holistic philosophy is the key to understanding the greater purpose for your life.

The Important of Holistic Thinking

Holistic thinking is the practice of considering the whole picture rather than focusing solely on individual parts. It emphasizes the interconnectedness and interdependence of various components within a system. Here are some key reasons why holistic thinking is important:

  1. Comprehensive Understanding: Holistic thinking allows for a more comprehensive understanding of complex systems. By looking at how different parts interact and influence each other, one can gain insights that are not apparent when considering elements in isolation.

  2. Improved Problem Solving: It facilitates better problem-solving by encouraging a broader perspective. This approach can lead to more innovative and effective solutions that address root causes rather than just symptoms.

  3. Enhanced Decision Making: Decisions made with a holistic perspective are often more balanced and sustainable. Considering the long-term impacts and the ripple effects of decisions helps in making choices that are beneficial in the broader context.

  4. Systems Thinking: Holistic thinking aligns with systems thinking, which is crucial in fields like ecology, economics, and healthcare. Understanding systems as wholes, rather than just the sum of their parts, leads to more effective interventions and policies.

  5. Interdisciplinary Approach: It encourages the integration of knowledge from different disciplines. This interdisciplinary approach can foster creativity and innovation by combining diverse perspectives and expertise.

  6. Sustainability: In addressing environmental and social issues, holistic thinking promotes sustainability. It recognizes the interconnectedness of ecological, economic, and social factors, leading to solutions that support the well-being of current and future generations.

  7. Personal Growth and Well-being: On an individual level, holistic thinking can enhance personal growth and well-being. It promotes a balanced lifestyle by considering physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of health.

  8. Effective Communication: It aids in effective communication and collaboration by fostering an understanding of different viewpoints and the relationships between them. This can lead to more harmonious and productive interactions.

In essence, holistic thinking provides a framework for understanding complexity and navigating it effectively, leading to more thoughtful, informed, and impactful actions. Astrology and holistic philosophy allow us to find the center of things. It provides us with a "bird's eye view" of why things happen, or why people are different from each other or similar. It is a framework providing a map of a grid and pattern that holds us to who and what we truly are in space and time.
