Libra ruled by Saturn

The following excerpt is taken from this more detailed post:

"So Libra is far far more than just sensuality and beauty, and in the old rulership, venus just doesn’t really lend itself to that depth that Libra really has. Because it’s an air sign, and because Libra natives are so accommodating to everyone, we can often struggle to see the vastness and capacity that Libra has intellectually.

Libra or "I balance" is concerned with peace, justice, and the appearance of structure. The house of Libra in your chart is where you are concerned with pleasing others, vanity, and a certain air of fakeness for the sake of getting along.

The judicial system is often found with the Libra symbol (scales) as it attempts to restore balance on earth. Libra energy is ruled by Saturn because Saturn is concerned with the appearance of structure and not the absolute cosmic structure like Pluto. Saturn is concerned with the intellect around what structure should be, while pluto actually shows the physical changes of structure.

Libra is the 7th sign, ruling the 7th house of romance and relationships with others, marriage etc, but also the 7th house is about relationships in general. How the native relates to themselves, and the only way that’s possible is if Libra is a measuring tool, a scale, not even a personified concept. Libra is a function, a masculine action of reconciliation between the body and the spirit. It is the opposite of aries in every way, it’s cardinal compulsion to balance good and evil, light and dark, comes from it’s perfect placement between them, balancing all the powerful cardinal energy of capricorn and cancer, but also able to face the chaos of aries head on.

Libra makes all of this look easy on top of it, Libra is all about appearances, but they aren’t just a pretty face, they have simply mastered the art of pleasing others, charming others, and making peace out of almost any situation, because that is their function. So that is a huge structural part of our psychology, and Libra’s humility allows it to go unnoticed, but really that is a major cardinal ability, balancing and juggling all the time between worlds, working magic to repair all things coming undone.

Libra’s really about appearances, there is a deep world that Libra’s don’t really talk about with others and the unevolved Libra comes off as fake, vain, shallow, because they simply haven’t learned how to convey the realities that are so unpleasant to you, that they are constantly picking up on, forgiving, and reconciling with. For this reason I would place Libra as the ruler of Saturn.

Now I know that Capricorn is supposedly the sign of structure and discipline, but that’s not really what Saturn is. Saturn is the appearance of power, order, and structure. It’s orbit is only 29 years, that isn’t really long enough for change to take place in anyone other than the native. We are lucky to have 3 saturn returns in our lifetime, and by the end of 90 years or so, our impact on societal structure is only appearance based.

Think about Libra’s affiliation with justice, weighing good and bad, Libra’s are incredibly judgemental, it’s how they are wired to be. They make excellent judges and attorneys, because they love to measure out, in a very neutral way, like a scale, the rights and wrongs of the world.

Saturn deals with the appearance of structure, and so does Libra, and that is one of the darker realities that I was mentioning earlier, where the old rulership really doesn’t cover so that is why I would place libra as the ruler of Saturn."

    Unevolved Libra Traits:

Libra often struggles with indecisiveness because they desire the perfect result that will be conflict free. When Libra is unevolved, they shy away from conflict, and become somewhat of a pushover, allowing others to make decisions for them. This indecisiveness can cause missed opportunities as well as frustration for themselves when they don't get the results they desire from someone else's choices. When Libra doesn't lean on their other traits, their personality tends to change or mold to whoever they are around. This can result in resentment, passive aggressiveness, burnout, and lack of authenticity in relationships. Libra also struggles with vanity and putting too much emphasis on appearances, leading to a lot of superficial relationships, lacking depth and commitment. When a Libra is not educated enough to form opinions around right and wrong, their intellect and judgement goes to waste. It's important for a Libra to continually learn about various topics, Libra struggles with laziness, and trying to intellectualize their way out of hard labor or long suffering. An unevolved Libra doesn't act upon opportunities because they anticipate stress, conflict, and work.

    Evolved Libra Traits:

An evolved Libra has drawn a line in the sand when it comes to their boundaries, and they are able to listen to their gut when dealing with toxic, dangerous, or unhealthy people who don't have their best interest in mind. They know when to cut people off and are brave enough to face conflict head on when needed. An evolved Libra is highly sensitive to their own inner judgement, an ability that they naturally have which is constantly squashed by others who don't like to face that judgement. Depending on the place where Libra is socialized and raised, their stronger male energy may be less tolerated, and they might not be encouraged by society to flourish at their full potential. An evolved Libra has made good relationships with the difficult angles in their chart, Aries, Cancer, and Capricorn. Libra is cardinal, and that inner voice cannot be tamed or erased forever, the more Libra listens to that voice, the stronger it will become, and the easier it will be to create the life Libra desires of peace and harmony. Libra is evolved when they don't shy away from getting their hands dirty, and removing the trash, unjust, and disturbing from their circle. Essentially, an evolved Libra embraces the Saturnian energy that they have the power and call to embody.

    Life Paths for Libra

In numerology, life path numbers reveal insights about an individual's personality, destiny, and the journey they are meant to take in this lifetime.

To find your life path number, simply add up all the numbers in your birthday and reduce them down until you get a single number. For example let's take the birthday 12/29/1988.

    • The month of December would be 1+2 =3
    • The day of the 29th would be 2+9= 11 (We then add 1+1=2)
    • The year would be 1+9+8+8= 26 (We then add 2+6= 8)
    • Then we add all the single digits: 3+2+8= 13
    • Then add those single digits again until we get a single digit 1+3=4
